There's a popular saying that pride comes before a fall. If someone thinks that they are too good for anything or anyone. They have their head so high up and believe that they are the best thing since sliced bread and no one can be as good as they are.
There's always something that makes them think like that. Maybe they have extraordinary beauty, they are highly intelligent, they are seriously rich, or they are just extremely conceited. Someone does not just wake up and realize that they are better than everyone else.
It's a gradual process. It could begin with hearing comments here and there. Seeing how smart they are that they always know things that others don't and they do better in school or work. Noticing how they can easily afford things that most people don't. With time, they may begin to see themselves as better and on a higher level than everyone else.
That kind of pride brings about arrogance. This kind of people will say and do what they want, not caring about other people's feelings. They will even go to extent of hurting those they believe are below them and less worthy.
But in due time, karma always catches up. It doesn't matter how good of everything someone was or had. There's always a time to pay for the bad and good they did. If they did more of the bad, then that's exactly what they get. That's when the fall happens.
They could have a drastic fall from grace or a slow one. The mean things they did and said come back to haunt them. Things could also go wrong in different ways like losing something very important to them or failing health.
