The name castle in itself sounds dreamy and so does the structure look. Castles are medieval. They are fortified structures that were built by nobles or royals in the middle ages. However, through the centuries as modernity grew with the introduction of gunpowder, and artillery strong enough to break through stone walls, castles were no longer as safe. Cannon fires made them even more undesirable and they became less popular. Castles were later only constructed as part of the romantic revival of Gothic architecture and not for any military or defense purposes.
