Some people tend to carry other people's burdens which can sometimes lead to self sabotage. Carrying people's problems is not wrong but it can weigh you down at times.
Everyone is going through something. You, too, have your own issues and responsibilities. If you empathize with others deeply and take their problems as your own, then you end up carrying both your problems and theirs.
They could be your sibling, friend, or someone close to you. They could even be someone you have been trying to help. The problem becomes worse if they are the type to escape responsibility.
When they are not responsible and their actions bring problems in their life, they run to you to help them fix them. Sometimes they turn to you and dump the whole problem on you to handle singlehandedly.
No matter how capable of helping others, that is not fair. And if you show someone that you can readily solve their issues for them each time they mess up, they will keep repeating the mistake because they have someone that cleans up after them.
Let the people who bring problems to you learn to carry their own cross. Teach them to be more responsible by letting them take responsibility for their actions and doing what is required to fix them.
Show them the way and let them do everything else for themselves. After all, you too are carrying a lot on your plate that you need to work on. The more you carry, the more weary you will be, and the less energy you will have to do the things you are supposed to do.
Also learn to carry only what you are capable of because overburdening yourself will leave you burned out and unable to do your best. Here are carry quotes to keep you inspired!
