Debasish Mridha is a physician, philosopher, writer, and philanthropist. he spent three years of his childhood in a refugee camp in India during and after the 1971 Bangladesh War of Independence.

Years later, he went to medical school at the Kiev Medical Institute in Ukraine where he completed his medical studies. He then moved to the United States for his residency and fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

He was licenced to practice neurology in 1995 with hospital privileges at Covenant hospital and St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. He established his neurology practice in Saginaw in 1999. He is board certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine.

He treats conditions like Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, migraines, and other neurological disorders. Dr Mridha believes in treating his patients with compassion and respect. He was awarded the IMG Michigan Physician of the Year Award in 2012.

Dr Mridha served on the board of directors for the Saginaw Valley State University Foundation. He created the Leadership Scholarship Award that is given annually to a deserving college student through the SVSU foundation.

He also served on the board of directors for the Michigan State Medical Society and the AMA Foundation. With the AMA Foundation, he came up with the Debasish Mridha Spirit of Medicine Award to encourage American physicians to go to third world countries to offer medical care.

Dr Mridha has invested in many local businesses and created various scholarships. He participates in philanthropic activities in third world countries through the Mridha Foundation.

He has great passion to serve others and encourages people to volunteer more to change the lives of others. His personal philosophy is, ‘Service is joy; service is happiness'. He is also the author of Verses of Happiness, a book with illustrated happiness quotes.
