Bob Proctor was born Robert Corlett Proctor on 5, July 1934 in Ontario, Canada. Having had low self esteem and small ambitions as a child, he dropped out of school after a thumb injury.
He went on to work several jobs, including a stint at the fire department. While there, he met someone who gave him the book Think and Grow Rich. He was 26 and he later claimed that it was the first book he ever read.
The book opened his eyes to a wider view of life and helped him start a cleaning services company. The business turned out to be quite successsful. He later became part of the Nightingale-Conant organization. He was mentored by Earl Nightingale and worked his way up the ladder.
He wrote his first book You Were Born Rich which was send back by publishers who called it ‘absurd.' However, in 1984, McCrary Publishing published it. It was the book that led to Rhonda Byrne picking him for the movie The Secret.
Bob Proctor taught the Law of Attraction whereby he believed that recurrent thoughts about something can turn it into reality. It could be anything from health to money.
Proctor's work motivates readers to tap into their inner self to control their lives through positive thinking. He believed that anyone could change their lives through the Law of Attraction.
